The day I wore this look, I was feeling lazy, in fact, I pretty much forced myself to get dressed. It was Mother's Day, but the day before I just drove 4 hours from the beach (Wilmington, NC) where I attended my youngest son's college graduation. The entire weekend was a blast. We had a great time, but by Sunday, I was totally worn out. I just can't party three days in a row like I used to 😓 Anyway, I wanted to spend time with my oldest son, here in town, for Mother's Day. I knew I wanted to dress very comfy but knowing myself, I had to find a way to make my Mother's Day look fun. I pulled out of my closet my faithful print that never let me down, which is stripes, along with one of my newest pair of white jeans. These straight leg jeans are replacing my tapered white boyfriend jeans. Straight leg relaxed jeans happen to be incredible comfortable and perfect for laid-back days. As I said in previous posts, I like to step up my white jeans game very often. They are a staple in my wardrobe, therefore, having updated styles is a must.
Back to the outfit...pairing white jeans with a striped pullover seemed to be very simple and even a tad Frenchy. The first thing that crossed my mind to do in order to elevate my look was bold accessories. I already knew I was going to wear a hat because we were going to sit outdoors mostly, but the hat wasn't enough to make this look fun for the eye. I needed more and so I added more! As you can see, I went for animal-inspired (I love this elephants necklace and alligator bracelet) jewelry, but nothing dainty, just big bold golden pieces. I enjoyed how all these safari-esque jewelry looked next to my classic striped pullover. Classic pieces look their best when you pair them with unexpected pieces with a totally opposite vibe. Now, I literally needed to elevate this look, so for shoes, I went for another bold choice. I could have worn stiletto sandals with these jeans (as I did here), but I wanted to respect my nonchalant mood, so I wore heels that were more casual and chunky. See these shoes with a another outfit here.
Well, I hope you, all my lovelies, had a wonderful Mother's Day last Sunday. I had a great one myself, seeing my youngest achieving his college degree and contemplating how my oldest has come so far.
