It has been a while since I shared a Monday Work Outfit but here I am back at it. I received quite a few emails from readers asking about this category and also seeking advice on how to wear certain pieces to work. I feel very flattered to know that many of you are actually getting inspired from my work outfit suggestions. Thanks for your emails and support of my blog in general.
Today, I'm presenting a look that was created based on some of your email requests. Yes, the common question was how to wear more than one print to work without looking too obvious or loud.
My answer to all was simple: wear small prints in neutral colors on garments with classic silhouettes. Mixing prints isn't everyone's cup of tea, however, this styling can be so much more tolerable if you wear smaller prints. As you can see in this look, I combined tiny polka dots with small leopard print. Both patterns are classic and small enough to never overwhelm your frame. Notice that my garments are very simple in design - they don't have any complicated twist or trendiness. In fact, you could call them boring...but I call them classic.
For this look, I chose to use some of my accessories as the source of one pattern and a clothing item as the second print. Luckily, the leopard print on my bag matched perfectly with the one on my belt despite being from different brands. Since these two leopard patterns are exactly the same, they count as one pattern. The polka dot button-down shirt couldn't be any classier and work appropriate than this one, and besides it looks great next the leopard print. These two patterns compliment each other and yet, they don't look overwhelming. A camel blazer seemed to be a great idea for this look because it picked up the warm hues from the leopard. The white shoes are obviously making harmony with my blouse and they also make a fun and strong contrast with the black pants. Boy, I'm glad I finally found the perfect white pumps. Last but not least to mention are my vintage earrings...they were the pop of color and unexpected touch that makes this entire look extra fun. Ok...they might be the loud part of my look...lol.
