I truly believe that every fashionista should own a pair of whimsical shoes. I personally wanted to own a pair of glittery shiny shoes for a long time but with the idea of wearing them mostly in the daytime. When I think about a pair of whimsical shoes, what comes to my mind is a clever pair of statement shoes... and when I say "clever" I mean nothing too tricky to wear.
Selecting a pair of whimsical shoes that will make an impact on our wardrobes and are also versatile enough is very important, especially when you have a tight budget.
About three weeks ago, I was telling to my husband that my wardrobe most definitely needed a pair of glittery heels, preferably pumps (blame this to Dorothy of Wizard of Oz). I often like to wear men-inspired clothes, so the idea of having a pair of girly and glittery shoes to pair with my masculine pieces seemed brilliant.
To my luck, while shopping with my sister-in-law in Grand Rapids, MI. I found a new pair of fabulous glittery pumps at a consignment shop. These babies you are seeing right now were brand new and cost me a lot less than retail. They fit me perfectly and boy, they are extremely comfortable due to the rubber bottoms. Yay!! I don't have to spend extra $$ to put on rubber sole protectors.
Today and for the first look of 2018, I decided to wear them the way I always imagined in my mind. Yes, I'm wearing them with a daytime casual look and with a men-inspired piece such as my boiler denim suit.
Wearing whimsical evening shoes during the day is actually refreshing and more fun. Oh, I must tell you that I've worn these shoes four times already and you won't believe all the compliments I've received due to the fact that I'm wearing them in the daytime.
