Dressing punk has been around for decades but this styling is constantly morphing to a point that it has become attractive even for the non-punk crowd. Punk style, as any other style, is best to be worn with a sense of individuality, meaning you want to add your personal edgy touches in order to make it yours and only yours.
My today's outfit was a fun attempt at a grown-up punk look. Everything that I'm wearing I've worn before in a completely different style. For example, my vintage plaid blazer and wool jacket were recently styled for "Monday Work Outfits", and you can see the looks here and here. These pieces were the foundation of this look because even for a toned down punk style, wearing heritage plaid or something with leather is totally a must. I must confess that styling a short jacket over a longer blazer was an unusual layering for me, but totally refreshing and fun.
In order to keep a toned-down punk vibe, I opted to wear a pair of clean style coated jeans instead of super distressed pants or a skater skirt with ripped fishnet tights. My accessories were also selected carefully, but accordingly with the soft punk look in mind.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this casual look which, by the way, I wore to visit one of our local bars in town. Remember, the fact that you aren't in your 20's anymore, it doesn't mean that you can't enjoy younger fashion styles. The key is to apply certain modifications to make them look more relevant to our life.
WHAT I WORE:
Jacket: Misook/Blazer: Vintage/Jeans: Joe's jeans/Bag: Valentino/Sunglasses: Ray-Ban (vintage)/Boots: Kurt Geiger.
THANKS FOR VISITING! ❤
