Today's "Monday Work Outfit" is about wearing a fun feminine/masculine combo, complimented with a punch of color.
The jacket that I'm wearing today is actually a real military uniform jacket from World War II. I love it very much because of the history behind of it and also because, besides loving its tailored style, I'm also fond of its color. In this opportunity, paring it with a dark floral dress seemed to be a great juxtaposition and yet it looked polished enough for work. By the way, this dress comes with a sash belt, but this time instead of wearing it on my waist, I wrapped it underneath the collar in order to have a pussy-bow-dress effect.
It's obvious that I accessorized with pieces that make harmony with the foundational garments, however, I also wanted to add a pop of color. I didn't find a better thing to wear than my new red ankle boots that matched perfectly with the flowers on my dress. By the way, I love these boots modern and yet simple style. These red beauties are surprisingly comfortable despite the tall heel.
I also accessorized my look with my new large and classic hoops, which I won on an Instagram giveaway by the brand. They are statement earrings, therefore, I decided not to wear jewelry anywhere else.
Here's a tip when buying a dressy military-inspired jacket:
In my opinion, military jackets work best when they're made with a structured material - so consider this when you're shopping for yours. Wool or stiff cotton are great options. Find materials that can withstand the elements and yet, hold its shape. If you aren't opposed wearing a real military jacket like mine, then I would recommend visiting your local vintage or thrift shops.
