Call me weird, but I personally don't mind rainy days (minus winter rain) especially in the summer months. I don't hate to dress for a wet day, in fact, I feel like weather like this forces me to be more creative with my outfits. Now, hair-wise can be a completely different situation...there aren't too many choices on how to wear your hair to prevent it from frizzing.
I usually like to wear one or two colorful pieces on dreary days, but once in a while, I do the opposite. Yes, sometimes I like to prove to myself that wearing neutral colors on gloomy days can be fun and never a downer. So, with that in mind, I decided to match the weather with a gray outfit ensembled with pieces that will make me smile.
The first thing that came to mind in order to create a fun look were prints. Mixing prints have always been a styling that makes me happy.
Most of you are aware that there isn't a stripe that I don't like, so it shouldn't be a surprise that I chose a striped dress as my foundation piece. On rainy days like this, being practical without compromising style is the way to go. For example, a knit dress like the one I'm wearing is practical but yet the perfect canvas for adding fun accessories such as clear bracelets and matching umbrella.
Now, you might ask, why is she wearing leather boots that can be ruined in the rain? Well, all my leather goods are super coated with rain protector, therefore, wearing my pair of Western leather boots that would compliment my outfit on a light rainy day, wasn't a problem.
At the end of the day, I was totally pleased with my look and I didn't feel like I needed a lot of color in order to approach the rain in a cheerful way.
WHAT I WORE:
Dress:Talbots/Boots: Frye/Umbrella: Totes/Bag: Mansur Gavriel.
See, I wasn't the only one having fun in the rain! My sweet friend Conor (Old Salem most loved cat) decided to join me in the rain with a positive attitude as well.
THANKS FOR VISITING! 🐈
