I always have said that there isn't one stripe that I don't like. My striped garments are without a doubt the key pieces in my wardrobe. Everyone has a print or color that bonds everything else in their wardrobe, in my case stripes are the ones keep mine functional and fun. Early in the month, I did another assessment in my wardrobe (3rd in this year) and I discovered that my few mariniére pullovers and other striped t-shirts are looking worn out. So far I've replaced a few of them, in fact, the one I'm wearing today is new and I must tell you that I'm loving it. Breton stripes are by far the most fun to wear, because of its classic style, you can wear them in many different ways.
This time around, I'm acquiring striped pullovers with thicker cotton and much better craftmenship from French brands such as Armor Lux or Orcival, however, I'm still happy with the quality of some of my J.Crew t-shirts.
What I love about the classic mariniére pullover is that I can wear it all year-round with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. In the warmer months, I can fold the sleeves up to my upper arms and pair it with skirts or shorts. In the cooler months of the year, I can wear them under any of blazers, jackets and coats. As many of you know, nautical-inspired garments are my weakness, so investing in great Breton stripes pullovers seems to be a clever idea.
WHAT I WORE:
Pullover: Armor Lux/Skirt: Levi's (vintage)/Shoes: Chanel/Sunglasses: Kate Spade/Bag: Kate Spade/Hoops: Vintage.
I LOVE this outfit - for the nautical feel as well as for the way you mix such classic pieces and give them a modern and very chic look! Simply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy! Nautical is my signature look, so I truly enjoy putting together looks like this.
