Leather on leather is a combination that isn't quite everyone's cup of tea. This combo can sometimes look a bit severe and if you aren't careful, it can look even tacky. So I totally understand why so many people won't dare to wear it. However, with the appropriate attitude and careful styling, this combination is completely doable.
One of my favorite ways to style multiple leather pieces is by combining different textures and also wearing a piece with lighter material to tone down its severity.
For example, in this look, I decided to pair my awesome leather pants (more recent looks here and here) with a jacket made of different leather, suede leather that is. I felt daring enough to add more leather pieces to my ensemble, but I wanted to keep the multi-texture leather concept, so instead of finding a pair of regular leather shoes, I opted for a shiny patent pair. The same goes with the belt and bag, which were made of texturized leather such as Saffiano and alligator-embossed leather.
WHAT I WORE:
Leather pants: Vintage/Suede jacket: Vintage/Belt: Vintage/T-shirt: Barney's New York/Sunglasses: Tom Ford/Bag: Kate Spade/Pumps: Christian Louboutin
