WHAT I WORE:
Midi coat: Thrifted. Similar/Maxi skirt: Vintage. Similar/Turtlenck: Lands End. Similar/Platform boots: Kurt Geiger/Bag: Kate Spade. Similar/Sunglasses: Tom Ford/Belt: Vintage. Similar/Cameo locket pendant: Vintage. Similar.
As you scroll down and look at all my pictures in this post, you will see that I don't look stumpy at any angle. But how did I achieve this? Well, first of all, I only wore one statement or colorful garment and surrounded it with simple line pieces, such as a midi classic coat and solid colored turtleneck. Since my outfit is constructed with long garments, keeping the rest simple it helps to the overall look.
Another styling that often is avoided by petite women and I applied to this look, is belting their jackets or coats. Many women (even non-petite) are under the impression that this will make them look larger or shorter. Per my own experience, I believe otherwise. In fact, cinching your coat, jacket or blazer can bring definition to all figure types. In this case, the belt was the accessory that added the right 👌 balance and definition in between my maxi skirt and my midi coat.
