How can I quickly make my business outfit cocktails-ready? Ah, that is the question that I'm sure crossed our minds quite a few times and mainly on Friday nights. In my opinion, you don't have to take a tote full of extra clothes or accessories to work in order to change your look for the happy-hour. I'm more than convinced that you can make this happen by only changing one thing.
My quick technique is to change the garment that adds the most formality to my look. For instance, If I'm wearing a suit and I think that my skirt is the most formal piece of my outfit, then I would bring with me an edgy pair of jeans or casual skirt that will completely change the vibe of my look.
WHAT I WORE:
Black jumpsuit: Madewell. Similar/Polka dot blazer: Target. Similar/Sunglasses: Chanel (vintage). Similar/Slingback pump: Chanel. Similar/Quilted bag: Kate Spade. Newer version/Scarf: H&M. Similar/Floral Earrings: Vintage. Similar.
In this opportunity, I'm wearing a look to meet up with a client for my blog. My personal business dress code is a tad more playful, but I understand that sometimes this can't be done when someone is working for a big corporation. With this look, I knew that my blazer was the most formal (but very fun) garment, therefore, the right piece to change.
As you can see, I decided to switch my blazer with a very casual and yet chic jacket. I opted for denim because, in my opinion, it's one of the most informal fabrics. My vintage denim jacket was, in this case, the right piece to give my personal business look a complete spin.
Denim jacket: Levi's (vintage). New version and darker wash
