Safari Style With Retro Shorts and Bow Blouse
June 2, 2016
One of my favorite things that comes with warmer weather are the opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. However, to enjoy must outdoor activities, we must dress comfortably. When we think about comfort, we probably feel like getting into our most worn out jeans, maybe an oversized t-shirt and a pair of flip-flops. Yes, it does sound comfortable - but also downtrodden, if you ask me.
Last week for a trip to the zoo, I knew I had to dress accordingly, but instead of wearing the predictable, I decided to wear something more fun and yet appropriate for the occasion. Since my favorite part of the zoo is the African region, I opted for a safari-inspired look. Yes, a safari look that would look fit right in with the zoo theme. I didn't want to look too costumey, therefore, I decided to combine girly, vintage, and Safari-inspired garments.
I recently acquired this pair of vintage floral shorts with the intention of adding a tad of sass to my wardrobe. The fit is oversized but still shapely enough to look feminine. A safari look doesn't have to be masculine and utilitarian all the way; we can add feminine touches to make it more soft and flirtatious and with that in mind, I decided to style my shorts with a tie-neck shirt. By the way, how do you like the way I knotted the ties?
