Brrrr, my goodness, it was 27 degrees when we did this photo shoot after our traditional Monday brunch date. I'm not a winter weather person, but I try my best to find motivation to dress up around this time of the year. Sometimes I just feel like staying all day in my house, wearing cozy pajamas while watching black and white movies and holding a cup of coffee.
Today I had to get out and dress for this freezing weather. As you see, I decided to wear a dress instead of pants. I know it sounds crazy wearing a dress with temperatures below 30's, however, wearing something somewhat inappropriate for any giving situation is sometimes a thrill to me.
Last year on a cool day of summer, I wore this powder blue dress with my beloved trench coat and pumps, but today I needed more layering in order to stay warm.
I like to double up with colors and with powder blue. You can always match with a darker shade of blue and it'll look great. Each shade will bring out each other's tones effortlessly.
I really love this outfit because, besides the fun layering, I also did a mix of textures. A furry sweater over a velvet dress seemed a great idea to wear under a cozy leopard coat and, by the way, how do you like the sweater belted with the dress sash? I think it's cute.
