The time to ring out the old and welcome the new year is almost here. As we say goodbye to each year, we look forward to new adventures and positive experiences. By Christmas, many of us have already made a list of resolutions that can help us to improve our lives. Some of us have already reached our dreams and realized that we need to settle down and move into the spectator mode. On the other hand, many of us have found ourselves not even being close to reaching our dreams, therefore, we've decided to stop being so passive and to start filling the role of the players. Regardless of the situation that you are in, I hope your new year is full of the things and experiences that you wish for.
Back in Honduras, I grew up listening to my parents telling us quotes and sayings when we needed advice or motivation. Many of those sayings I still remember and use to this day. Today, I will not talk to you about my outfit; instead, I will leave a few quotes that have inspired lately.
"Play the game for more than you can afford to lose...only then you will learn the game" Winston Churchill
"Progress always involves risk; you can't steal second base and keep your foot on first" Frederick Wilcox
"There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living" Nelson Mandela
"Don't underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering" A.A. Milne
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs out; do you know perceive it? I am making the way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19
"Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome" Arthur Ashe.
"Love turns work in to rest" Teresa de Ávila
"I have many problems in my life, but my lips don't know that. They always smile" Charlie Chaplin
