Crocheted striped sweater, polka-dot shirt, golden buttoned nautical blazer, men's cap, quilted bag, red cage sandals, boyfriend white jeans, hoop earrings and aviator sunglasses…it might be a bit too much for many of you, but for me, they are the type of details that when put together create my personal style, which is an extension of my personality. Believe me, as an experiment and after contemplating Sofia Coppola's style, I tried a few times to dress as minimalist as possible and I unconsciously ended up adding extra details to my look…lol
I must mention and you probably already surmised that my style is not typically appropriate for the office. I don't work in one, which actually gives me the opportunity to express myself with my clothes and a big part of that is wearing mixed patterns and my dear hats.
Now tell me about you, are you minimalist like Sofia Coppola or a maximalist like Viviana Volpicella?

I enjoy complexity - mix of colors, textures and layering is very pleasing to my eye! I love the playfulness and sunshine of your style, Carelia, and I can see why you are taken with Viviana's style. I am definitely not a minimalist myself, and I think being true to ourselves is the most important thing in life, really. The way we are inside reflects in how we dress, how we decorate our home, our preferences in garden planting and the town we choose to live in (eventually :), people with who we prefer to spend our time, and even more - the life we choose to live. So why be other than yourself and the truest at that? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Natalia for your awesome comment! I have to agree with you on everything, embracing who we are is what it matters. I really enjoy complexity fashion wise, my wardrobe is like my personal playground, sometimes I want to play with everything at once…lol.
DeleteLovely look :)

Thanks Annette! I took advantage of a heat wave last week and wore sandals two day in a row ;-) Next week we are having messy weather again ;-( so, I can't put the boots away yet.

Thanks Emma! It's a men's hat, but fits perfectly in my head :-)
DeleteLooking typically, maximally, truly Carelia! Love it my friend. I am definitely closer to minimalism, but I like each piece to be just "so". It's all about the details!

Well hello beautiful!! Thanks for stopping by and leaving comment. And by the way when I think about your style, Miranda Kerr is what comes to my mind.
DeleteWow! That totally made my day!! She is one of my inspirations and I even took her pic to my hairstylist for my color! Thanks, lovely.
DeleteYou are a remarkably good stylist, and have a distinct way of styling nautical outfits. I particularly like the way you add accessories and match up without an effort!
