A Light Dress On A Cold Day

It has been a little colder than usual here in the southern United States, but that didn't stop me yesterday from wearing my poppy print dress and chunky platform sandals. Since I stayed indoors most of the day, showing off my girly side on a cold day wasn't a huge sacrifice, mainly when comfy shoes like this permitted me to rush from the door to my car and vice-versa and besides, my turtle-neck and wool coat kept my upper body toasty. I decided to add to this look a touch of gold with the belt and the hardware of the bracelet which both ended up matching perfectly with the gold inlay at the bottom of my shoes.

Las temperaturas han bajado mas de lo acostumbrado aquí en el sur de los Estados Unidos, pero eso no me impidió que me pusiera mi vestido de estampado de amapolas y mis plataformas. La mayoría del día me la pase debajo techo así que no me expuse a las temperaturas bajas mucho tiempo y por supuesto, con estas plataformas cómodas es fácil moverse rápido del coche a la puerta y viceversa. Yo pienso que no hay que renunciar a estas prendas ligeras en tiempos fríos, porque si les agregamos capas para que nos mantengan canlientitas podemos sacarle mas partido.

El toque final que le di a este conjunto fue el color oro, con un faja entrenzada, un brazalete y el detalle en la madera de mis plataformas.
