As we all know, metallic hues are commonly associated with holidays or evening wear. However, nowadays fashionistas all over the globe (including myself) are rocking a touch of razzle-dazzle with casual, everyday outfits. If you are new to this trend, wearing metallic footwear is the easiest way to introduce the sparkle to your outfit.
I don't mind once in a while to trade in my plain Jane shoes for something with a little more luster.
SHOP THE LOOK:
Now, seeing fun hues applied to unexpected footwear is refreshing; like perhaps in this case - a men-inspired pair of shoes coated with a hot metallic color.
As I mentioned in my last post, I partnered with onlineshoes.com to bring you two looks with men-inspired shoes. Today I'm presenting to you the 2nd look, but with gold brogues. In this opportunity, I let my shoes do most of the talking, therefore, I style them with a neutral colored look. (see a similar look here.)
I wanted to have a combo of feminine and masculine pieces in this look, so besides pairing this lady-like slip dress with my brogues, I also opted to wear a men's Fedora (borrowed from my husband's wardrobe) and oversized aviator sunglasses.
If you ever decide to introduce metallic shoes to your work wardrobe, my favorite tip is to stick with classic pewters, bronzes and muted gold, like these brogues. You don't want your feet to be mistaken for a disco ball at work...right?
Any classic flats, slingbacks or men-inspired shoes with a little shine will positively bring a touch of fanciness to your work attire. Just wear them strategically keeping the rest of your look fuss-free.
I wore this look for a casual dinner out with my husband, and I must tell you that he saw some ladies contemplating at my shoes and I, of course, pretend that I didn't notice.
